About Marc
I’m a certified chemistry teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching AP Chemistry at the high school level. I also serve as an AP Chemistry Exam Reader for the College Board, which gives me deep insight into how students are assessed—and how to help them succeed. Over the past two decades, I’ve supported hundreds of students in mastering chemistry, raising their test scores, and building the confidence needed to tackle challenging material. I specialize in helping students make sense of complex topics while developing strong problem-solving and exam strategies. My lessons are structured to build confidence, raise scores, and promote long-term understanding. I begin by identifying where a student is struggling—whether with content, strategy, or practice—and then tailor each session to meet that need. I specialize in AP Chemistry and college-level general chemistry. Lessons include a mix of concept review, guided problem solving, and exam-style practice. I help students improve their written explanations, develop stronger reasoning for FRQs or lab work, and prepare effectively for major assessments. What makes my lessons unique is the balance of rigor and support. I aim to help students not just do better in class but become more independent and self-assured in chemistry overall. My students often see improved test scores and increased confidence after just a few sessions, especially when we meet regularly.

Rates by Subject I charge different rates based on subject level and the type of support required: AP Chemistry – $120/hr (Includes exam prep, FRQ coaching, and advanced problem-solving strategies) College General Chemistry (Gen Chem I/II) – $110/hr (Support for lecture material, problem sets, and lab concepts) High School Chemistry (Non-AP) – $100/hr (Concept development, homework help, test prep) Group Sessions (2–4 students) 2 students – $80 per student/hr 3 students – $65 per student/hr 4 students – $55 per student/hr Group sessions are ideal for friends or classmates in the same course. Rates include shared materials and structured practice.
