About Kirsty
I’m Kirsty, a qualified teacher since 2009 with over 16 years of experience in UK secondary schools. I’ve been Head of Science and Head of Chemistry, and I also work as an examiner, giving me first-hand insight into what exam boards are really looking for. Tutoring allows me to do what I love most — supporting students one-to-one, helping them build confidence, and showing them that Chemistry and Science are subjects they really can master.

I know Chemistry can feel tricky, but my job is to make it clear and manageable. I’ve been teaching GCSE Science and A Level Chemistry for over 16 years, and I always explain things step by step until they make sense. My online lessons are 55 minutes - 1 hour and include practice questions, tips for revision, and plenty of chances to ask questions. Whether it’s calculations, exam technique, or building confidence, I’ll work with you at your pace so you can feel ready for exams.

Details
My standard rate is £55 per hour for 1:1 A Level Chemistry tuition. For GCSE Science, the rate may vary depending on the level and support required. I also offer small group sessions (max 6 students) from £15–£20 per student per hour, which can be a cost-effective option while still benefiting from my structured teaching and exam expertise. Every new student is welcome to a free 30-minute “getting to know you” session. This gives us time to discuss goals, identify strengths and areas to work on, and agree how lessons will be structured — making sure students feel comfortable and confident before we begin.
