About Seekei
Hi! I’m a Mandarin teacher currently based in Johor Iskandar Puteri.
I graduated from Tsinghua University with a degree in History and have around two years of full-time Mandarin teaching experience in Singapore. Since then, I have continued teaching students of different ages and learning backgrounds in Johor.
My students include children from Chinese primary schools as well as many non-native Mandarin learners. Because of this, I understand some of the common difficulties children face — they may understand Mandarin but struggle to speak, know pinyin but find Chinese characters difficult to remember, or gradually lose confidence because they feel that Mandarin is “too difficult”.
In my lessons, I adapt the teaching approach according to each child’s level and learning needs. I use pictures, stories, interactive activities, games and real-life examples to help students understand vocabulary and sentence structures, rather than simply memorising answers.

For younger children and beginners, I place more emphasis on:
-Vocabulary and character recognition
-Pinyin and pronunciation
-Everyday speaking and communication
For primary-school students, lessons can also focus on school syllabus revision, vocabulary, reading, oral communication, writing and exam preparation.
My goal is not only to help children complete their homework or prepare for exams, but also to gradually build their confidence in Mandarin, so that they can genuinely feel:
“I understand it, and I can express myself in Mandarin too.”
I currently offer 1-to-1 and 1-to-2 Mandarin lessons, with both online and in-person options available depending on the student’s needs.
