About Maris
I hold an MSc in Computer Science and have eight years of experience teaching programming, software development, and algorithms. My approach emphasizes conceptual clarity, applied learning, and creative problem-solving. I combine theory with hands-on practice, guiding learners to build functional projects while strengthening algorithmic reasoning and logical thinking. Students gain confidence through continuous feedback and iterative coding exercises. Lessons are interactive and student-centered. I encourage experimentation, independent thinking, and structured problem-solving, fostering resilience, creativity, and analytical skills critical for success in computer science. I personalize lessons according to each student’s pace, goals, and interests. Students work on projects aligned with their objectives, whether exam preparation, portfolio development, or research, ensuring practical competence and mastery. Computer Science is both an art and a science of problem-solving. My mission is to equip students with the skills, confidence, and mindset to innovate, create, and excel in academic and professional technology fields.

My Computer Science lessons begin with fundamental programming concepts, including data types, control structures, loops, and functions. Students immediately engage in hands-on exercises, applying concepts in small coding projects to reinforce understanding and develop problem-solving skills.
I integrate data structures and algorithms into lessons early on, explaining arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, sorting, and searching. Each concept is illustrated with real-world examples, such as game development, data processing, or automation, making abstract ideas tangible and applicable.
Debugging and optimization strategies are emphasized. Learners practice identifying errors, improving efficiency, and analyzing code systematically. I teach multiple approaches to problem-solving, fostering adaptability, logical reasoning, and algorithmic thinking in practical scenarios.
Project-based learning is central. Students build mini-projects such as web apps, automation scripts, or simple AI models. This ensures that concepts are immediately applied, reinforcing learning while preparing students for real-world programming tasks.
Collaborative exercises, peer code reviews, and scenario-based challenges encourage teamwork, communication, and iterative learning. Students learn to evaluate different approaches, reflect on their solutions, and refine their coding skills progressively.
