About Cathy
I am highly qualified . I have the equivalent of two masters degrees in education. I have taught for over twenty years. I love watching students discover how to study and how to find solutions to questions. I enjoy teaching how to record or write so that the student is able to show his/her understanding of their assignment.
I am a guide and do not judge. If something doesn't sound right, I
suggest another way around figuring out solutions. It does not take me long to understand a student's learning style. Any reports that you have or testing would be helpful for me to better help you.
I have some informal testing that I do with you to help me find out your levels.

Most of the work I do with you addresses your learning style. Visual, Audio, and Kinesthetic methods can be mixed together to help you discover what is best for you. I am good at helping you understand and identify your style.
A typical lesson would start with what you have on your agenda and we would work through that. A second kind of lesson would be designed by me specifically for improvement in reading comp.,comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and sentence structure which are the most areas that need attention.
I have taught K-12. My concentration is with 5-12th grades. I have a Special Ed. credential which gives me greater insight in how to teach individual students. I have tutored for the last 5 years both remotely and and face to face meeting in a library. I am able to tutor Biology, English, ESL, History, Government, most Sciences except for Chemistry. I can help with elementary math.
