About Chris

I was an exceedingly poor high school student who experienced many adverse childhood events. I went from graduating 10th from the bottom of my high school class to earning two certificates, one diploma, two associate degrees, two bachelor's degrees, two master's degrees, and a doctorate.

I'm not more or less intelligent than the majority of people. I had no role models who cared how I performed in school, no knowledge of study skills, and no idea how a lack of basic needs impacted learning. Once I learned what I didn't know, I excelled in college with a high GPA and multiple honors.

If I can master a variety of subjects, so can you! Let's learn together and attain the goals you deserve. All you need is persistence and the desire to make the world a little better place than you found it. Let's do this!

About the lesson

I break information down into smaller and more understandable chunks. I consider the subject and the role of stress, sleep, and environment in success. I understand how memory works and how long-lasting learning occurs from a psychological and physiological perspective.

My lesson plans draw on dialogue, knowledge checks, multimedia, and educational games that even adults enjoy. I created many small interactive eBooks and have a learning management system for quizzes, uploading documents, and accessing various materials.

I leverage technology and more traditional methods to meet you where you are. You will realize things you thought were difficult are not as hard as you thought. The best learning occurs when you can apply knowledge to a real-world problem. I strive to make information relevant.

I teach subjects such as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, EKG interpretation, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support (CPR), and every facet of EMR, EMT, paramedic, and community paramedic curriculum.

Other health sciences subjects I teach include epidemiology, behavioral health, health promotion, and health research.

Education-related subjects I teach include curriculum development, instructional methods, educational philosophy, and research in the higher education environment.

Anthropology subjects I teach include cultural anthropology, medical anthropology, organizational anthropology, and ethnographic research.

I am experienced at teaching all college levels, from undergraduate to graduate. I can also help with capstone projects, theses, and dissertations.
