About Elizabeth

Hi, I'm Lizzie!

I've worked with students of different abilities and learning styles, from those looking to build confidence in English to students aiming for top grades. I know that everyone learns differently, so I always tailor my lessons to suit the student and their goals.

My aim is to make English feel more approachable and enjoyable. Whether you're struggling with essay structure, analysing texts, or preparing for exams, I'll provide a supportive environment where you can ask questions, develop your ideas, and grow in confidence without feeling judged.

I prepare lessons in advance and create a clear plan so we can track progress together. As a recent graduate, I understand the challenges students deal with and the skills needed to succeed in exams. It is most important to me that my students feel comfortable, supported and confident in their abilities while achieving the best results they can.

About the lesson

I am an experienced English tutor that offers support in GCSE English Language and Literature and A-Level English Literature. I also offer support with CV writing and guidance with university applications.

My lessons are tailored to each student. At the start, we'll have a consultation to identify the key areas for improvement and create a plan to track the student's progress. I prepare lesson materials in advance, including exercises, essay questions, and exam-style practice, ensuring sessions are focused and productive.

Lessons typically last 1–2 hours, depending on what works best for the student (and parent input where appropriate). Sessions can focus on essay writing, textual analysis, revision, coursework support or exam technique.

I am happy to work with students of all abilities, although my experience has largely been with students looking to achieve pass grades in GCSE or A-Level. Whether you are looking to just improve your confidence in English, raise your grades or achieve top marks in your exams, I am confident we can build a tutoring plan to achieve your goals.
