About Bess

Hi! I'm an experienced English teacher. I have been teaching in a primary school for 15 years. My Master degree is specialized in English Language teaching. Now I'm working as a EAL (English as an Additional Language) support worker in primary schools in Surrey to support students' learning. From my experience, teaching kids phonics is very essential to help them learn English at ease as it is a very important foundation. Once they have grasped the skills, their ability of reading, spelling and writing will soar!

About the lesson

- Equip kids aged 3-10 with Synthetic Phonics to help them acquire the skills of blending and decoding unfamiliar words step by step.
- Facilitate students' learning with visual tools.
- Use story to arouse children's interest and apply the phonics skills in context.
- Aim at supporting kids to read independently and confidently

- Teach IPA transcription for juniors aged 10 - 14.

Typical length of a phonics lesson: 1 hour
Age group:
1) 3 - 10 years old (Phonics group)
2) 10 - 14 years old (IPA transcription)

Bess is profressional. Her class goes in slow flow with relax and stretching poses at the beginning as warm up. She helps students correct and improve techniques that you can do the challenging poses at the end of the class. It is very impressive for a beginner like me! Highly recommended!
