My Approach as a Tutor
I believe that learning English should be both practical and enjoyable. My teaching method is highly student-centred, meaning I adapt each lesson to the learner’s goals, level, and interests. I combine task-based learning, communicative practice, and pronunciation training to help students not only learn English but also use it confidently in real situations.
Teaching Methods and Techniques
Task-Based Learning (TBLT): Students learn by completing real-life tasks such as presentations, debates, or problem-solving activities.
Pronunciation & Fluency Work: Special focus on speaking naturally and clearly, including accent reduction and posh British pronunciation if desired.
Vocabulary Expansion: Use of synonyms, collocations, and idioms to make language richer and more academic or professional.
Error Correction & Feedback: Constructive, supportive feedback that helps learners improve without interrupting their flow.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (5 minutes): Quick speaking activity to get students comfortable and focused.
Core Focus (30 minutes): Guided practice on the main topic (e.g. Business English emails, interview skills, pronunciation drills, or academic writing).
Interactive Task (15 minutes): Roleplay, problem-solving, or discussion that applies the lesson in a real-world context.
Feedback & Reflection (10 minutes): Correcting errors, highlighting progress, and setting small goals for the next session.
