About Andrea
I have been tutoring for 6 years and have been a qualified English teacher for 4 years. I am currently teaching English in an Outstanding school. We've upheld an Outstanding rating for the past 18 years. Prior to teaching English, I taught in a Special Needs School and worked as an Education specialist in which I taught young people 1 to 1 and in small groups in order to help them develop a love for learning and transition back into mainstream schooling. Additionally, I have worked as an Afterschool club manager and Teaching assistant in 2 primary schools. Through my varied experience, I have been able to work with children of all ages and can offer a creative and tailored approach to learning.

My goal in teaching is to assist every student to achieve their full potential because I understand that excellence and progress looks different to each individual. I offer a tailored approach, teaching my students the way they learn best. In the first session I will assess the student's current level, discuss what you want to achieve and initiate a plan to get there. My lessons are different for each student but can include the use of technology - PowerPoint or videos, working through exam questions and showing students exemplary answers and encouraging students to understand and analyse texts more closely.
