About Jess
I used to dislike maths and lacked a lot of confidence however through great teachers I ended up loving it. Achieving a grade 9 in GCSE maths I feel confident I will strongly be able to support students throughout their maths journey; improve their confidence, give them great revision methods, make them enjoy it and allow them to achieve a grade they are proud of.

My 55 minute sessions will be structured around what the students wants to do and how they learn best. I am happy to work through the syllabus or for them to tell me topics they want to work on, I will then be able to plan my sessions in advance and it will ensure they get the best out of each session. Once they have stated the topics that they are struggling with I will be able to give the students step by step methods breaking down what may seem like a tricky topic into simple steps, making it easier for them to understand. I will then give students more questions surrounding this topic which slowly progress in difficulty to test their understanding and to ensure they are confident that they can do it. I will follow this with exam questions to see if they are able to apply the methods to an exam question on this topic, as sometimes the wording of exam questions are slightly harder. I will show the students where they will gain their marks for the questions to improve their exam technique. They will then be able to ace their exams with confidence!
