About Lisa
I am a patient, experienced and successful tutor of ESOL/EFL conversation. I hold a degree in English Literature and I have been privately educated by a Cambridge Professor of English Literature. I have a wealth of experience in studying, writing and tutoring. I have my own poetry website and I am used to giving public performances of my work. I can share my passion for the English language with you and give you the confidence to use English in both a business and a social setting. I have many success stories as I have been teaching for a long time now. One former student became a Paramedic another a successful Computer programmer. I have taught as a volunteer at my local college (this is where I found my passion for the subject). I enjoyed every minute of the experience. Both ESOL teachers that I worked under told me to pursue a career in this area.

My teaching method is simple and straightforward. Conversational English can be made overcomplicated by an overreliance on sentence structure and grammar. The best way to learn English is to freely and repeatedly converse with someone patient and understanding enough to correct your mistakes and encourage you when you get it right. Increasing confidence is crucial to learning a language and I will listen carefully and attentively to your conversation and then give you ideas for improvement. I want to be able to expand your vocabulary and improve both your fluency and pronunciation. I have been told by many students that I am patient, friendly and non-judgemental.
