About Ria
I am an experienced and patient tutor supporting students from KS1 to GCSE and A level, including Functional Skills. I hold A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, giving me a strong academic foundation and a clear understanding of how to succeed in exam-based subjects. I believe that with determination and perseverance, students can do well — and I understand that this motivation can sometimes be hard to find. I work closely with students to help them rediscover confidence, develop resilience, and pursue their learning with enthusiasm. A big part of my approach is helping students prove to themselves (and to anyone who ever doubted them) that they can succeed. I have experience supporting students with anxiety, SEN, and low confidence, and I create a calm, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. Together, we identify the revision strategies that work best for the individual, and I regularly provide exam-style questions to test understanding and build confidence ahead of assessments. Whether a student needs support catching up, preparing for exams, or rebuilding confidence in a subject, my aim is to make learning feel achievable, positive, and rewarding.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and learning style, focusing on building understanding, confidence, and exam skills. We start by identifying what the student already knows and what they find challenging, and then we work together to create a revision or learning plan that works best for them. I provide clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and practical examples, and I use exam-style questions to test understanding and track progress. Lessons are interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and think critically, while also developing study strategies that will help them succeed independently. I aim to make each lesson positive, motivating, and rewarding, helping students approach learning with enthusiasm, overcome setbacks, and achieve the grades they are capable of.
