About Thomas
I am an architecture graduate from the University of Bath who loves sharing my passion for STEM subjects. I am eager to share my joy of learning and help students achieve their potential and boost their confidence. I pride myself on being open and understanding. I have been tutoring for the past 4 years and so have experience helping students through all kinds of problems and explaining things in different ways. No question is too little - I have been through these exams myself recently and so know exactly how it feels to not understand something or need a little clarification.

I tailor my sessions to each student's specific learning style and target areas. I use exam style questions to target learning for test scenarios and to familiarise students with the questions they can expect to see. In a typical topic-based session, I will consolidate the previous session's learning for the first 5 minutes before explaining the main principles of the session's chosen topic. After this, we work through progressively more challenging questions in order to reach the student's working level and then build upon it to push their understanding further. This helps improve confidence, accuracy and competency, reinforcing the learning so that a student can feel confident using it in an exam. I can also run other types of session ranging from revision scheduling and past paper sessions to homework reviews or specific question types. I will create a plan and then liaise each week to ensure the session aligns with the student's needs; after all the wonderful thing about personal tutoring is its ability to be 100% tailored to the individual.
