My teaching method goes beyond rote memorization of facts to foster a deep, analytical understanding of literature. Drawing on my ICSE background, which emphasizes critical thinking and diverse texts, I teach students to actively engage with what they read.
When we study prose and poetry, we won't just analyze plot and rhyme schemes. We will explore the themes, character motivations, and literary devices to understand the author's intent and the text's impact. For the Shakespearean novel, I will use my experience to make the language accessible, breaking down the text to reveal its timeless relevance and powerful human emotions, moving beyond intimidation to genuine appreciation.
This approach empowers students to think critically, express themselves clearly, and see literature as a powerful reflection of the human experience.
