About Isabel

Hiya I'm Izzy, A bit about me: I am a music-obsessed guitar player and a self-produced artist. I fell in love with the guitar after discovering a 12 bar blues as a kid. Started gigging locally at age 14 with my first band, who played jangly alternative rock. I am currently really into looping, lofi and rnb guitar. As well as producing my own dreamy but dark indie pop. Been on a journey discovering music since I was born and never looked back! The important stuff: I am a professional guitar player, composer and artist with a Bachelors degree in Music. With over 10 years of experience as a tutor I can teach any contemporary genre, music theory and songwriting on both electric and acoustic guitar. I also have real life experience in the industry I have co-written music with Brian May, performed with Kate Nash, and supported JLS and Jessie J. Whether you are a guitarist or not I can teach you production and songwriting in Logic Pro X, or the old fashioned way, with a pen and paper! I teach online over Zoom or Skype. Please message for any questions!

About the lesson

I'm offering electric or acoustic guitar lessons for students at any level. I can help you improve your skills, understand music theory or learn your favourite songs. I like my lessons to focus on being relaxed and having fun as well as making noticeable progress. For beginners it's all about getting your fingers comfortable with the guitar and learning some simple songs you can recognise. If you are a more intermediate student we can look into certain genres, techniques or expression and creativity. Each student has different goals and likes to work at a different pace. Whether you are working towards a qualification, are stuck in a rut with your playing or just want to learn to jam along to your favourite songs I can help make a plan for you. Please contact me with any specific questions!

As an older student i have spent a few years trying different teachers with different methods to improve my guitar player with limited sucess.
Feeling like i needed to try lessons one more time i happened upon Isabels advert and have not looked back.
She is patient, knowledgable, and very patient and has always found a way to make things understandable and enjoyable.
Highly recommended.

I have been having guitar lessons with Isabel for around 3.5 years, initially in person then virtually due to covid restrictions. In both contexts Isabel is a fantastic teacher! She is extremely encouraging whilst making the lessons sufficiently challenging at the same time. The lessons fit together well with a natural and observable progression that is extremely rewarding. I would definitely (& in fact have in the past) recommend her
