About Gemar
With over **24 years of experience** teaching mathematics at both the high school and university levels, I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and achieve success in mathematics. I have taught a wide range of subjects, including Algebra II, Precalculus, AP Calculus, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Statistics, and Probability. In addition, I have **two years of teaching experience in the United States**, where I worked with diverse learners and implemented student-centered instructional strategies.
I hold professional teaching licenses and have extensive experience designing engaging lessons, preparing students for examinations, and supporting learners with different abilities and learning styles. My teaching philosophy emphasizes conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving rather than rote memorization.

My approach as a mathematics tutor is student-centered, engaging, and focused on developing conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I believe students learn mathematics best when they understand the "why" behind the formulas and procedures. I encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and active participation by connecting mathematical concepts to real-world situations and guiding students through questions rather than simply providing answers.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previously learned concepts, followed by a clear explanation of the new topic using examples and visual representations when appropriate. I then demonstrate step-by-step problem-solving strategies before allowing students to practice independently with guided support. Throughout the lesson, I assess understanding through questioning and formative exercises, provide immediate feedback, and conclude with a summary and additional practice or homework to reinforce learning.
