About Manoko

Hi, I'm Manoko. I completed my Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Psychology Cum Laude, and I was recognised as a GradStar Top 100 Candidate (2024). While my qualification is in psychology, my passion has always been working with young people and helping them realise that they are capable of more than they think.

Over the years, I have worked with learners in different settings as a mentor, child and youth care worker, and now as a Mathematics and Physical Sciences tutor. These experiences have taught me that no two learners are the same. Some need concepts explained differently, others need someone who believes in them before they can believe in themselves.

I enjoy teaching because I love seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks. My goal is not only to help you improve your marks but also to help you become a more confident and independent learner. If you're willing to put in the effort, I'll be there to guide and support you every step of the way.

About the lesson

I believe every student can improve with the right support and approach. My lessons begin with understanding what the learner already knows before introducing new concepts in a simple, practical way. I explain the theory thoroughly and then reinforce it using worked examples, exam-style questions and past papers, especially for the IEB curriculum. I assess understanding through verbal discussions, written exercises and regular practice. With my Psychology Honours background, I also pay attention to each learner's confidence, motivation and emotional well-being, creating a patient, encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.
