About Shandeen

With almost 3 decades of teaching experience (both in Jamaica and overseas), I am a passionate and dedicated teacher who believes that every student can make progress with the right guidance, encouragement and approach to learning.

As Head of the Business and Economics Department at a secondary school, I have extensive experience teaching students with a wide range of abilities, needs and aspirations.

I also have experience as an examiner, which gives me valuable insight into examination requirements, assessment criteria and what students need to do to achieve higher marks. Exam boards include IGCSE.

Are you looking to improve your grades, strengthen your understanding or feel more confident in Business, Economics or Accounting?

With almost 3 decades of teaching experience, I am a passionate and dedicated teacher who believes that every student can make progress with the right guidance, encouragement and approach to learning.

As Head of the Business and Economics Department at a prominent high school, I have extensive experience teaching students with a wide range of abilities, needs and aspirations. I also have experience as an examiner, which gives me valuable insight into examination requirements, assessment criteria and what students need to do to achieve higher marks.

5. Targeted practice: I use retrieval activities, examination questions and constructive feedback to identify gaps in knowledge and turn them into opportunities for improvement.

Details

My tutoring packages are designed to offer both value for money and the opportunity for meaningful academic progress. Individual sessions are priced at $5,000 per hour, while the 5-hour package costs $22,500, saving you $2,500 (10%), and the 10-hour package costs $42,500, saving you $7,500 (15%) compared with paying for individual sessions. I particularly recommend the 10-hour package because consistency is key to progress. Regular sessions allow us to build on previous learning, address gaps in understanding, reinforce key concepts, practise exam-style questions and develop the student's confidence over time. Rather than treating each lesson as a standalone session, we can follow a more structured approach, monitor progress and adapt our focus to the student's needs. While results depend on the student's engagement and effort, consistent tutoring provides greater opportunity to develop understanding, strengthen skills and work towards the desired outcomes, while also offering the lowest cost per hour.
