About Tyana
Hi, I’m Tyana. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Biology and English, and I am passionate about helping students develop strong academic skills and confidence in their learning. My teaching style is structured, patient, and supportive, with a focus on clear explanations and building true understanding rather than memorization. Each lesson is thoughtfully planned and tailored to the individual student. Sessions typically begin with a brief review to assess understanding, followed by step-by-step instruction of new material. I incorporate guided practice, reading and writing exercises, and targeted skill development based on each student’s needs. Lessons conclude with a review to reinforce learning and ensure students feel prepared and confident. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to combine strong academic knowledge with an encouraging and adaptable teaching approach. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adjust lessons accordingly, while maintaining high expectations and academic standards. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and capable of success. My tutoring services are designed for K–12 students of all levels, including those who need extra support, those looking to strengthen foundational skills, and students seeking to improve reading, writing, grammar, and overall academic performance. Hi, I’m Tyana!
My teaching approach is patient, structured, and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel confident and supported, so I focus on breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps and explaining them in age-appropriate ways. I emphasize understanding over memorization and use positive reinforcement to help students build confidence in their abilities. I also incorporate engaging activities, visuals, and real-life examples to make learning enjoyable and meaningful.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in or review to see what the student already understands. From there, I introduce new material step by step, using guided practice to ensure comprehension before moving on. Lessons often include reading passages, writing exercises, grammar practice, or skill-building activities depending on the student’s needs. I end each session with a short review and practice strategies students can use independently.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to adapt each lesson to the individual learner. I take time to understand how each student learns best and adjust my teaching style accordingly. I go the extra mile to make lessons fun, engaging, and confidence-boosting, while still keeping them academically strong and goal-oriented.
My lessons are for K–12 students of all skill levels, including beginners, struggling learners, and students who want to strengthen or refine their English skills. I support reading comprehension, writing development, grammar, spelling, homework help, and overall academic confidence for elementary, middle, and high school students.
