About Yin
I have over 15 years' experience teaching cello in schools (private and state schools) and at my home studio. My students range from young children, school students, working adults to retirees. I have extensive experience playing in orchestras and chamber music. My students achieve good results in their exams consistently. I teach for exam and leisure, focusing on building a strong foundation, traininig students to be independent learners. I can speak Mandarin. I look forward to share my knowledge with you.

The cello produces an attractive mellow sound, and being a string instrument, it possesses great expressive qualities. I focus on building good overall foundation skills for the students with the ultimate aim for the students being able to play music on their own. I encourage students to explore and practise playing music in a thinking manner i.e. how to go about producing a good sound, playing in tune, making the music come alive. I help students overcome their weakness in counting/rhythm and sight-reading skills, both I find lacking in many students I met. My goal is for students to enjoy making beautiful music on the cello.
