About Liam
I’ve always been passionate about mathematics, but my interests extend well beyond the classroom. I’m a keen sportsman who enjoys football and tennis — and yes, I’m a proud Liverpool fan! Music is another big part of my life; playing guitar and piano brings me great joy and balance. Above all, I have a deep love for education. I’m endlessly curious about how people learn, what motivates them, and how that understanding can help me inspire others. I believe learning should be an enjoyable, lifelong process, and my goal as a tutor is to help every student discover confidence and satisfaction in their own progress.

As a former Lead Practitioner for Mathematics, I bring years of classroom experience and a deep understanding of how students learn best. My lessons are designed to build confidence, strengthen understanding, and develop effective exam techniques that lead to real results. I tailor each session to the individual student — identifying areas of strength and weakness, then creating targeted practice and discussion around key topics. I use a mix of guided problem-solving, worked examples, and questioning to encourage active thinking and build independence. My approach is supportive but challenging, aiming to help students not only “get the method” but truly understand the maths behind it. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and attention span. I also provide follow-up tasks or revision strategies where appropriate to reinforce learning between sessions. I have experience teaching across KS3 to A-Level, including preparation for GCSE and further maths qualifications. Whether you’re looking to improve confidence, secure higher grades, or refine your exam technique, my goal is to make maths clearer, less stressful, and more rewarding.
