About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology

I provide personalised, structured, and supportive online Maths tutoring, focusing primarily on A-Level, IB, and GCSE students aged 14 to 19. My approach is student-centered, designed specifically to meet the unique learning style and needs of each student.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology

• Personal Self-Assessment & Progress Tracking:
I begin each tutoring journey with a personal self-assessment tool, helping students clearly identify their strengths and areas for improvement. This becomes the cornerstone of our learning plan and progress tracking.

• Structured and Tailored Learning Plans:
Based on the self-assessment results, I design customised lessons that address each student's specific challenges, build on their strengths, and guide them towards their personal goals.

• Interactive Online Sessions:
I use a drawing tablet combined with interactive online tools to deliver engaging, clear, and dynamic lessons. This approach ensures concepts, from algebra and geometry to calculus and statistics, are communicated clearly and interactively.

• Regular Feedback and Homework:
Each lesson concludes with detailed feedback, clear homework assignments, and actionable recommendations. This structured approach ensures continuous improvement and reinforced learning.

• Constant Availability and Communication:
I maintain open lines of communication, readily available via phone, email, or WhatsApp to support students and parents outside of sessions, answer queries, and provide additional guidance.

Typical Lesson Length

My lessons typically last 60 minutes, which is ideal for focused learning, meaningful practice, and maintaining student engagement without overwhelming them.

My Qualifications and Experience

I have over 15 years of experience teaching Maths, including roles as a professional Maths tutor and Head Teacher at World Class Academy, an international school catering to student-athletes. My academic credentials include degrees from Southampton and Warwick Universities. This combination of extensive teaching experience, leadership roles, and strong academic background enables me to effectively support students through all aspects of their Maths education.

Who Are My Lessons For?

My tutoring services are designed for secondary school and sixth-form students aged 14–19 studying:

• A-Level Maths (all major exam boards including Edexcel, AQA, OCR)
• IB Maths (both Standard and Higher Level)
• GCSE Maths (foundation and higher tiers, across all exam boards)
