About Phil

I am a qualified and experienced educator with a strong background in both CAPS and Cambridge curricula. I specialize in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology (IT) and have worked with learners across different grades and ability levels. My teaching is structured, clear, and focused on building genuine understanding rather than memorization.

I am professional, reliable, and well prepared for every lesson. I take time to understand each learner’s strengths and challenges and adapt my teaching accordingly. My approach encourages confidence, critical thinking, and steady academic improvement in a supportive and respectful learning environment.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is learner-centred, structured, and supportive. I focus on building strong foundational understanding while developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and independent thinking. Lessons are adapted to each learner’s pace and learning style, ensuring concepts are clearly understood before moving on.

I teach using both CAPS and Cambridge curriculum frameworks, with a strong focus on Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology (IT). My teaching methodology combines clear explanations, guided practice, real-life examples, and continuous feedback. I place emphasis on understanding the “why” behind concepts rather than rote memorisation.

I am proficient in English and am able to teach confidently in this language. Lessons are interactive and engaging, with a balance of explanation, practice, and reflection.
