About Dhamotharan
I am an experienced Maths and Physics tutor with a PhD in Engineering and a strong background in teaching and research. I have worked as a GCSE Maths tutor at an independent school in London and have delivered more than 100 hours of one-to-one Maths tuition. I also have university-level teaching experience and have supervised undergraduate research projects. My teaching style is friendly, patient and structured, with a strong focus on building confidence and problem-solving skills. I help students understand concepts clearly, approach questions systematically and become more independent and confident learners in Maths and Physics.

My tutoring approach focuses on building strong understanding, confidence and problem-solving skills in Maths and Physics. I use a “work together” method, where I solve problems alongside the student and guide them through each step. This helps students gain confidence and learn how to approach unfamiliar problems independently. I explain concepts using simple examples before progressing to more challenging and exam-style questions. Lessons typically last 60 minutes. I have a PhD in engineering background with university teaching, research and student supervision experience. My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students and are tailored to each student’s individual learning needs and goals.
