About Gopikaroy

Hi! I'm currently studying a double degree in Aerospace Engineering (Honors) and Commerce at Monash University, and I have a strong passion for education and helping students reach their full potential.

I have several years of tutoring experience, having previously worked at Edu-Kingdom College and Kumon, where I taught Mathematics, English, Science and Selective Entry preparation to students of varying ages and abilities.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students gradually build their confidence, particularly those who initially find a subject challenging. I believe that with the right guidance, patience and encouragement, every student can make meaningful progress.

As someone who has experienced the demands of both school and university, I understand how important it is to have a supportive teacher who can make difficult concepts easier to understand.

I also hold a current Working with Children Check and take pride in creating a friendly, encouraging and professional learning environment where students feel motivated to improve and achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring focuses on building a strong understanding of fundamental concepts while helping students develop confidence in their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual needs, learning pace and areas for improvement.

I typically offer 60-minute lessons, beginning with a quick revision of previous topics before introducing new concepts through clear explanations, worked examples and guided practice. I also incorporate regular quizzes and practice questions to reinforce understanding and track progress over time.

Having previously worked as a tutor at Edu-Kingdom College and Kumon, I have experience teaching students of different ages and abilities, including those preparing for selective entry examinations.

My lessons are designed for students in Years 3–9, covering Mathematics, English and Science, as well as selective entry preparation. I offer both online and in-person tutoring across Melbourne, with a focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes.
