About Amaya
I am a Math tutor with over 3 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science. I enjoy helping students not only solve problems but also communicate their mathematical thinking clearly. My focus is on improving mathematical communication and exposition skills for students at all levels. I break down complex concepts into simple, logical steps, making them easier to grasp. I guide students in writing coherent mathematical arguments that are both precise and easy to follow. Whether it’s explaining a proof or outlining a solution method, I emphasize structure and clarity. I have worked with university students on essays, research papers, and presentations that involve mathematical content. This includes helping them organize ideas, use correct notation, and present solutions in a professional manner. I also coach students on how to speak about mathematics with confidence and precision. Seeing students go from uncertainty to clear, confident explanation is one of the best parts of my work. I believe that understanding is only complete when you can express it well. Together, we’ll develop both your skills and your voice in mathematics—making clarity and confidence your strongest tools.

My teaching approach in Maths is focused on building strong understanding and smart strategies for success. I work with students from schools and universities, helping them excel in areas like Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics. For test preparation, I cover SAT, GRE, and GMAT, guiding students through targeted drills and timed practice tests. These help develop accuracy and speed under exam pressure.
I break down complex concepts into simple steps, making them easy to understand and remember. We work on avoiding common pitfalls that often lower scores. I also teach efficient problem-solving techniques that save valuable minutes during the test. Strategy development is a big part of my lessons, so students know exactly how to tackle different question types.
Being skilled in both teaching and the history of mathematics, I bring context that makes learning more interesting and memorable. Practice is tailored to each student’s needs, ensuring steady progress. Regular feedback sessions help track improvement and adjust focus areas. We prepare not only for knowledge but also for confidence.
By the time exam day arrives, my students know the material, the strategies, and how to manage their time effectively. The goal is simple: high scores and lasting skills in Maths.
