About Chris
I am a personable teacher, intent on encouraging students to succeed in and appreciate the best subject in the Victorian curriculum, Science!! Though originally Biology trained, in the years as a classroom teacher and school leader, I have become knowledgeable in Senior Physics and Chemistry as well and enjoy linking the learning across the curriculum.

My approach to Behaviour Management is to firstly ensure that lessons are well prepared, relevant and attractively delivered. I favour strong parent-teacher liaison and partnership in the responsibility for their child’s education and a flexible and differentiated lesson delivery technique. I believe that students should take responsibility for their actions and that interfering with the learning of others is not to be tolerated. The research of John Hattie (Effective versus ineffective teacher strategies), Dylan Wiliams (Formative assessment is, arguably, the best teacher improvement technique) and Carol Dweck (Growth Mind set encourages students to take risks and embrace failure) figure strongly in my approach to educating children.
