About Laure
Hello, my name is Laura - or Laure [lor] in French.
I was born and grew up in the West of France. There I graduated in Applied Foreign Languages (English and Spanish).
After several stays in Spain, Italy and the United States, I finally settled near Madrid where I have been living since 2002.
I began my professional life in the fields of tourism, hotels and international trade, but in 2014 I decided to to pursue a career in translation and teaching French as a foreign language.
Since then I have been teaching French both in companies and in language academies: groups or one-to-one classes, face-to-face or telematic, all levels.

I adapt the content of my classes to the needs of the students, relying on learning material from books or the Internet or on self-made material.
I believe it is important to acquire a good grammatical base but it is just as important to put it into practice.
Thus, I like to combine grammar theory activities with comprehension and expression practices in class.
Depending on the age and the priorities of the student, we will focus more or less on certain topics or practices:
- grammar and verbs conjugations
- phonetics and pronunciation
- vocabulary adapted to the needs of the student (ordinary life, habits, news, technical and business vocabulary, etc. )
- written expression: business mails, simple compositions, essays, articles, etc.
- written and oral comprehension: newspaper articles, novels, conferences, podcasts, etc.
- conversation and debates on topics of interest.
