About Joel
I am a dedicated NYC public school Special Education teacher who believes that every student’s success starts with a personalized roadmap. I pride myself on my 'conversations with data'—I don’t just look at scores; I analyze them to pinpoint exactly where a student’s hurdles are so we can clear them together.
Because I am deeply committed to closing the literacy gap, I founded and led a specialized literacy intervention program at my school. This program was designed specifically for students reading three or more grade levels below their peers. By using evidence-based strategies and tracking real-time progress, I help my students transform their reading fluency. My ultimate goal is to turn 'I can’t' into 'I can,' inspiring a sense of confidence and academic independence that stays with my students long after our lessons end.
