About Rachana
Hello! I’m an experienced Assistant Teacher based in the UK, with over four years of experience working in a primary school. During this time, I have supported children across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), helping them build confidence, develop strong academic foundations, and enjoy learning.
I am also certified in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), which enables me to effectively support English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. I understand that every child learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s individual needs, pace, and learning style.
Alongside my school role, I tutor children preparing for 7+ and 11+ entrance exams, as well as those working towards their SATs or needing extra support in primary English and Maths. I am proud that many of the students I have tutored have achieved outstanding results and successfully secured places at top grammar schools.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and engaging. I strive to create a positive learning environment where children feel confident to ask questions, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy crocheting, knitting, and playing badminton. I believe creativity, patience, and perseverance are valuable qualities both in the classroom and in everyday life, and I bring these values into every lesson I teach.

Every child learns differently, which is why I tailor every lesson to suit each student’s individual needs, learning style, and goals. Whether your child needs support with primary school learning, SATs preparation, 7+ or 11+ entrance exams, or English as a Second Language (ESL), I provide engaging, structured lessons that build confidence and help students achieve their full potential.
My online lessons are delivered in a friendly, supportive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. I help students strengthen their understanding of English and Maths while developing key skills in reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, spelling, reasoning, and problem-solving.
For students preparing for SATs, 7+ and 11+ examinations, lessons are focused on the specific requirements of each assessment. We work on exam techniques, timed practice, and targeted revision to improve both performance and confidence. For ESL learners, I provide patient, personalised support to develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, and overall communication skills.
My goal is not only to improve academic results but also to help every student become a confident, independent learner who enjoys learning and believes in their own abilities. I adapt my teaching to each child, ensuring lessons are both enjoyable and challenging, so they can make consistent progress and feel proud of their achievements.
