Hi, I’m Iman a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with a strong passion for helping students succeed in reading, grammar, and writing. I’m currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree at NYU on a full scholarship, which reflects both my academic excellence and strong commitment to education. As a tutor, I believe that learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I use a student-centered approach that focuses on building strong foundational skills in reading and grammar while boosting confidence and critical thinking.
My teaching method combines clear explanations, interactive exercises, and real-world examples to make lessons practical and relatable. I often use visual aids, writing prompts, reading passages, and games to keep students engaged and reinforce learning in fun and meaningful ways.
A typical lesson plan starts with a short review of the previous session, followed by a focused mini-lesson on a specific concept (such as subject-verb agreement, punctuation, or reading comprehension strategies). Then, we work through guided practice activities together, and I end with independent practice and a quick recap to assess understanding. I always encourage questions and make space for students to share their thoughts.
What sets me apart is my patience, my ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms, and my dedication to helping students feel seen and supported. I personalize every session based on the student's strengths, challenges, and goals, whether they’re catching up or looking to get ahead.
These lessons are ideal for elementary through high school students who need help with grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills, or test prep. I especially enjoy working with students who may feel intimidated by English and helping them realize they’re more capable than they think.
