About Isla
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BSc in Theoretical Physics. I have a passion for exploring the physics of sound and music. In my lessons, I use audio experiments and wave visualisations to explain acoustics in a clear and engaging way. I enjoy teaching concepts like sound production, resonance, musical scales, and instrument design. My strength lies in connecting physics principles to the art of sound, showing students how theory translates into the music they love. I guide learners through hands-on experiments that make complex ideas tangible and exciting. By exploring vibrations, harmonics, and resonance, students see the science behind each note and melody. I make lessons interactive, combining theory with practical demonstrations. Through this approach, students gain both understanding and appreciation for the physics behind music. I aim to inspire curiosity and creativity while building strong analytical skills. Together, we’ll discover the scientific beauty behind your favourite melodies and sounds, making learning Physics both fun and memorable.

My teaching approach in Physics focuses on building a deep understanding of concepts and strong problem-solving skills. I cover core topics like Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Thermodynamics, and Waves, as well as specialised areas relevant to AP Physics test preparation. Concept review is always paired with practical applications, helping students connect theory to real-world scenarios. I use targeted drills and practice tests to reinforce learning and build exam confidence. Problem-solving techniques are emphasised, guiding students to approach questions methodically and think critically. I also focus on exam strategies, including time management and identifying common pitfalls. Lessons are interactive and tailored to each student’s pace and strengths. Beyond preparation, I encourage curiosity and exploration, connecting Physics with mathematics and real-world phenomena. Students gain confidence as they master concepts and sharpen analytical thinking. I provide continuous support, ensuring they are ready to excel in tests and assignments. My methodology is designed to make learning structured, clear, and enjoyable. By combining rigorous practice with conceptual understanding, students not only perform well in exams but also develop a lasting appreciation for Physics.
