About Jerry
I have been working as a computer scientist for the past 7 years in both academia and industry. Through this experience I have acquired problem solving skills with a multitude of programming languages and programmer tools.
In academia specifically, I have guided hundreds of students introducing them to programming fundamentals and helping them discovers the joys of computing and how to become better at their craft.
As a professional, I have trained incoming interns to help them understand the architecture of products the company is producing. Additionally I have created concise documentation that has helped trained even those who came after I left.

I believe strongly in learning by doing. As such, I strive to help students understand concepts by having them write code that illustrates whatever concepts we are looking into. Moreover, I employ presentation slides to avail multiple different ways of looking at a concept such as using diagrams and pictures.
Lessons are based on what the learner aims to achieve and after initial communication I will create a tailored lesson plan and share it with the student.
Lessons are split into two parts, first I demonstrate the concept to the student and answer their questions to ensure they have a good understanding. Then we write code to solve a problem.
My lessons are meant for students between grade 8 high school and Masters' level students. Also, professionals are welcome to apply and anyone with an interest in any of the areas I teach!
