About Refilwe
Hello and welcome!
My name is Refilwe, and I am a qualified educator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a TEFL certificate. I am passionate about helping learners build confidence and achieve real progress in English, whether they are improving their speaking, writing, reading, or overall communication skills.
I bring a professional, patient, and supportive approach to every lesson. My teaching style is student-centered, which means I adapt each lesson to suit the learner’s individual needs, pace, and goals. I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable, encouraged, and actively involved, so I create a positive environment where questions are welcomed and mistakes are seen as part of the learning process.
My lessons are structured, engaging, and practical. A typical session includes interactive speaking practice, focused language activities, and clear explanations of grammar and vocabulary, followed by guided practice to reinforce understanding. I also provide feedback throughout the lesson to help students improve continuously and gain confidence step by step.
I work with learners of all ages, from beginner to intermediate levels, including school learners, adults, and professionals who want to improve their English for academic, work, or everyday communication purposes. I also support students with homework assistance, test preparation, and developing stronger fluency and pronunciation.
My goal is simple: to help every student become more confident, capable, and independent in English while enjoying the learning journey.

My tutoring approach is student-centered, supportive, and goal-driven. I focus on creating a safe and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable to make mistakes and grow in confidence. I adapt my teaching style to suit each learner’s needs, whether they require structured academic support, conversational practice, or exam preparation. I believe in making lessons interactive, practical, and engaging so that learning feels meaningful and enjoyable.
I am proficient in English and teach primarily in English to support language immersion and fluency development. Where necessary, I also use simple explanations and scaffolding techniques to ensure full understanding, especially for beginner and elementary learners.
A typical lesson with me includes a warm-up conversation, targeted vocabulary or grammar focus, guided practice, and real-life application activities such as speaking tasks, reading comprehension, or writing exercises. I also provide feedback throughout the lesson and end with a short review to reinforce learning and track progress over time.
My lessons are aimed at learners from beginner to intermediate levels, including children, teenagers, and adults who want to improve their English for school, work, travel, or everyday communication. I also support students who need help with homework, exam preparation, or building confidence in speaking and writing. My goal is to help each learner improve steadily while enjoying the learning process.
