I believe every student has a different learning style, pace, and set of strengths. My first step is therefore to understand the student’s current level through a short assessment or mock test. Based on their performance, I identify their strengths, areas that need improvement, and learning gaps, and then design a teaching approach that is best suited to them.
My primary focus is on building strong fundamentals. I want students to understand the “why” behind a concept rather than simply memorizing formulas, definitions, or answers. Once the basics are clear, students become more confident and are able to solve unfamiliar problems on their own.
I also believe that good teaching should strike the right balance between school academics and conceptual learning. I make sure students remain well-prepared for their school curriculum, class tests, and examinations, while also giving them opportunities to explore concepts beyond what is typically covered in the classroom. This helps them develop deeper understanding without compromising their academic performance.
For students who are interested in challenging themselves, I also incorporate Olympiad-oriented questions and problem-solving activities. These help develop logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and the ability to approach problems from different perspectives.
My teaching style is interactive, patient, and activity-based. Instead of making every session a one-way lecture, I encourage students to ask questions, think aloud, attempt problems themselves, and learn from their mistakes.
I also believe that education is not limited to textbooks and examinations. I take an interest in students’ extracurricular activities, hobbies, and individual interests, because understanding a child beyond academics helps create a stronger teacher-student relationship and makes learning more personalized.
Most importantly, I want students to enjoy learning. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, are not afraid of making mistakes, and gradually develop the confidence to say, “I can figure this out myself.”
For me, success as a teacher is not just about better marks—it is about helping students become curious, confident, independent, and enthusiastic learners.
