About Prianca

I am a 23 year old international student from South Africa. While my degree was not based in the Arts, I was the President of my university’s Music Society for 2 years during my time studying.

I am passionate about music and it’s been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. Besides guitar, I am also a singer/songwriter and able to play the ukulele as well as piano.

I know what it’s like when you’re first starting out. The frustration at not being able to play what you want to play can be highly demotivating. My first guitar teacher was the reason I persevered through this rough patch and I’m looking to pay that forward. I’m also just really excited for the opportunity to spark that joy of music in someone else!

About the lesson

I have been playing guitar since I was 9 and so I’m familiar with the frustrations of learning an instrument at a young age and because of this, my focus is to breakdown information into something that is easily digestible as well as FUN, which is the most important part!

Throughout my time playing guitar, I have been formally tutored for a total of 5 years. During this time, I covered aspects of classical flamenco guitar, jazz guitar, rock guitar and rhythm and blues guitar. I am comfortable teaching most genres however and will be flexible to work with the needs of each individual student.

My lessons are designed for beginner guitarists who have just started out on their journey. I am open to working with any age of student and am comfortable with supervised sessions as well, should the student be of a younger age. The ultimate goal of my sessions is to prepare you with the basic knowledge you’ll use for your entire journey into the world of music.
