About Alistair

I am dedicated, enthusiastic and friendly. I love sport and it has helped me become a confident and social person and helped me develop excellent communication skills. My experience has shown me the importance of this, patience and my real proficiency in these areas. I have been universally commended on my professionalism, work ethic and leadership. I am a passionate teacher and absolutely love my work. I enjoy teaching all subjects and will use all my experience to plan tailored sessions for students which will be effective and engaging.

About the lesson

I have extensive expertise working with a wide range of learners, including children with complex special educational needs (such as autism, ADHD, and processing difficulties) as well as gifted and talented pupils seeking greater challenge. I am passionate about helping every learner thrive, no matter their starting point. My approach is nurturing, structured, and adaptive—carefully designed to build confidence, close learning gaps, and promote accelerated progress. Many of my pupils have exceeded expectations, not only catching up but surpassing age-related standards through consistent, targeted support. In my classrooms I curate a calm, enriching learning environment for all students with a range of needs including those with SEND. I assessed progress, ensuring tailored interventions and support where necessary. Collaborating with parents and colleagues, fostering a supportive classroom ethos, contributing substantively to the development of each student. I catered to a large range of both academic abilities and behavioural and social needs. Whether you or your child needs support catching up, stretching ahead, or building self-belief, I offer calm, expert guidance rooted in psychology, pedagogy, and years of classroom experience.

He is incredibly professional and very experienced in teaching young people across a wide range of abilities and with differing support needs, including neurodiversity. Alistair established an excellent rapport with our son from the outset. He is flexible and adaptable in teaching style, content and pace of study and this has translated into much more positive progress at GCSE level.
