About Alexis

Hello! I am Alexis an enthusiastic and patient TEFL-qualified English teacher who enjoys helping people develop their English skills and, most importantly, become more confident using the language.

I became interested in teaching English because I enjoy communicating with international people especially from different backgrounds and helping them overcome the challenges they may experience when learning a new language. I find it rewarding to see a student go from feeling unsure about speaking English to expressing themselves more naturally and confidently.

I believe learning English should be practical, engaging and suited to each individual student. I enjoy creating lessons where students can ask questions, make mistakes, practise freely and see their progress over time.

For me, teaching isn't just about correcting grammar or learning vocabulary — it's about helping students feel comfortable and confident communicating in real-life situations.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed around you and your individual goals. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, writing or simply become more confident speaking English, I'll adapt our lessons to suit your needs and learning style.
I offer General English, Conversational English, English for everyday situations, workplace English, grammar and vocabulary lessons, as well as speaking and pronunciation practice.

My teaching approach is practical, interactive and student-centred. I believe that learning English should involve actually using the language, not simply memorising rules.

Depending on your goals, our lessons may include conversations, real-life situations, vocabulary building, grammar activities, pronunciation practice and structured speaking exercises.
What makes my lessons different is the balance between structure and natural conversation.

I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes because mistakes are a normal and important part of learning. I'll guide you, correct you constructively and explain things clearly so that you understand not only what is correct, but why.

Students can expect a patient and approachable teacher, personalised lessons, plenty of opportunities to speak, and constructive feedback to help you improve from lesson to lesson.

My lessons are mainly aimed at teen and adult learners aged 13+ from Beginner to Upper-Intermediate level to Advanced(A1–C1), particularly students who want to improve their speaking confidence, everyday communication, grammar and vocabulary.

I believe learning English should be accessible and provide genuine value. My lessons are R100 per hour and are personalised to each student's level, goals and areas of improvement.

I also offer a free 30-minute trial lesson, giving you the opportunity to meet me, discuss what you would like to achieve and experience my teaching approach before deciding whether my lessons are right for you.

Whether you need help with speaking, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation or everyday English, our lessons will be focused on practical skills that you can use with greater confidence outside the classroom.
