Generally, I will ask a student what they think of their current musical level (i.g. beginner, intermideate, advantced etc.). I like to go over some very basic music theory. I want the student to know that I am here for them to learn and to have a blast getting good at their craft. If they are willing to put forth the effort they will excel. That is the purpose to why I am here.
