Lobo taught me not only the major and minor pentatonic scales, but also taught me how to apply them in a solo so that I could truly improvise a solo rather than just put pieces of solos I grabbed from other players. When learning a new song I can now hear the scales and how the guitar player is applying them to that song. I can now learn that solo and add just a little bit of me into them as well. Lobo is also a genuinely nice guy who really wants you to be a better player. As a musician, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
