About Rashida
I'm hard of hearing and I've been signing all of my life. I enjoy helping others and love to expose people to deaf culture. I'm currently an assistant teaher for deaf and hard of hearing kids and I love what I do. My goal for each student is for them to be able to have basic conversations with deaf and hard of hearing people and would want to have a deeper understand of deaf culture. Sign language is helpful for people with various disabilities: hearing loss, down syndrome, mute, etc. It also helps people develop language if speaking isn’t natural to them. It does takes time and patience but with hard work, we'll get through it!
I've always enjoyed working with kids. I've done jobs/volunteer work at hospitals, day cares, special need events, etc. It was hard for me to start teaching while in school but I finally got the opppounity and here I am.
I've been an assiatant teacher for 2 years.

I start with the basics: simple greetings, ABCs, 123s, colors, read kid books, etc. I do assign small homework tasks as well.
Deaf and hard of hearing, down sydrome, various disabilties, and children k4-8th grade.
I will push you, we'll have short games and educational material to learn from.
