About Lauren
I am a drawer, painter, and photographer who enjoys detail drawing and semi-realistic art style. I got my B.A. in Art: Education and have taught fine art for the last 3 years, as well as offer private art tutoring. I'm certified K-12 in multiple states, and enjoy working with a variety of age groups.
I have also taken several collegiate art history courses including 2 surveys spanning from prehistory-1900s, contemporary, modern, and non-western art.
I love figure drawing and anatomical/scientific illustration, and many of the works I do for fun feature skulls, skeletons, or other anatomical features.
I enjoy art because it helps me say things I don't always know how to say with words. School was not always the most comfortable place for me growing up, but the art room was a safe space, and some of my best memories are hanging out in the art club making work. I enjoy being that safe place for students now.
I'm certified in both South Carolina and Georgia as a Highly Qualified Teacher in art education for grades K-12. I've been teaching public school for the last 3 years and have taken a variety of courses that help make me the best educator I can be for my field.
