About Isabel
I am a third and final year Biological Sciences (Zoology Bsc) student at the University of Southampton and I am thrilled to be studying a subject that I found so interesting at GCSE and A Level at a higher level. I genuinely love science and have done since I was in school, and a large part of that was due to having passionate teachers during my teenage years.
I have been tutoring for three years and so have a strong understanding of the requirements of different specifications, as well as different styles of learning and teaching.

A typical lesson (A Level and GCSE) with me will last an hour. In the lesson, we might focus on individual topics that a student has struggled with or specific areas where they require further explanation or practise. However, as a tutor I think it's really important to support students in making connections between topics, and, where appropriate, between subjects, in order to reinforce understanding and better prepare them for the types of high tariff questions they will encounter in exams. This means even if a lesson focuses on a specific area of the subject I will always encourage consolidation of previously studied material, through further questions, explanations and examples.
Equally, a lesson can also be focused around specific questions or exam papers that the student has found difficult. Flexibility is really key for me, and I want to work with parents and students to find an approach that best fits their needs and aspirations.
Ultimately, I want to support you or your child to achieve the full extent of their potential in chemistry GCSE and A Level.
