About Frankie

I am a friendly, positive, and experienced tutor with a passion for modern languages, studying French, German, and Linguistics at the University of Southampton. I have experience in tutoring and teaching French, German, and English as a foreign language to students from a range of different backgrounds. Through studying linguistics, I have gained knowledge in the areas of grammar, pronunciation, sociolinguistics, and language acquisition, meaning I can offer a rounded, enriching experience.

I can help you make progress in order to achieve your goals and grow in confidence, whether that's GCSE, A-Level, or other, while sharing my enthusiasm for languages. I am known for being both patient and reliable, and I incorporate a student-led approach to my sessions as much as possible. At A-Level I achieved As in both languages, and at university I have achieved firsts in my first and second years , as well as academic awards for French and German.

About the lesson

I take a positive, individualised approach to tutoring. As a modern languages student who's been learning languages for 15 years, and has also studied second language acquisition, I am very familiar with the most effective techniques for making quick progress in the target languages. The sessions will be tailored to your needs, so I will be flexible and target the skills you most need help with - whether it's reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, or translation. I am familiar with the GCSE / A-level syllabuses, so lessons can be focused on exam practice if required.

Perfect! Frankie is a very supportive Tutor, and adapted to to the way my daughter learnt best. she did her best to work around my daughter’s busy college & work life . Frankie marked some of my daughter’s work outside of their tutoring sessions to provide feedback. Frankie was consistent at going over the things my daughter struggled with until they stuck in her mind.
