About Jacob

As a polyglot who speaks English, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian and French, I can say with absolute confidence that I profoundly understand the most effective ways to learn a language. And as luck would have it, the most effective way turns out to also be the most enjoyable way!

I had the privilege of studying abroad at Osaka College of Music, where all my lessons and socialising were in Japanese. Using my methods, I was able to reach a level of fluency that allowed me to fully experience every little detail of a new culture, and make friends that will last a lifetime. I cannot begin to express how precious that year was and how much it has nourished me. The importance of languages today is massively overlooked and I strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about it to begin their journey!

As long as you are guided by curiosity and passion, and make sure to make millions of mistakes, language learning will be effortless. I want to share my methods with you so that you can achieve your goals, whether they are to go on holiday, to travel or move abroad, to learn the language of a loved one, for school (GCSE, A-Level), or even better just for fun!

About the lesson

As a self-taught polyglot who also studied languages at school, I have experienced first-hand the ineffective, repetitive and boring approaches to language learning which we have all been subject to.

Fortunately, after years of experimenting, speaking and making friends from all over the world by following my curiosity and passion for languages, I have cultivated a methodology which feels completely natural and effortless, to the extent that learning some languages has felt almost accidental.

Instead of endlessly memorising verb tables, my approach is driven by what interests you, learning through real-life practice about topics that you care about in your target language. Each lesson is tailored completely to students' unique individual goals and interests.

I offer lessons (ranging from 30-60 minutes) to all levels and all ages. The languages I offer are Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese.
