About Ruby

I have freshly graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, and I am well poised to help students gain both fundamental and complex understandings of a variety of biological studies from physiology to microbiology and more.

Helping to foster an interest and engagement with the material is a very gratifying experiencing, particularly in a subject I really enjoy.

I've always enjoyed teaching, one of my earliest experiences being when I was 13 and volunteered at a preschool.

I have a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from a British university called the University of Reading. In my degree, I have extensively covered a wide range of scientific areas including, but not limited to, physiology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, and microbiology. Additionally, my final year dissertation involved programming and cancer research. I also have industrial experience in the bioengineering sector, working for a year as a laboratory technician in a bioprinting company.

I've also participated in global volunteer work that has involved teaching in underprivileged schools as well as a teacher's assistant in a secondary school biology class in the U.K.

About the lesson

Before a student or myself makes a commitment, I prefer to meet initially, free of charge, to make sure that my expertise and teaching style are amenable to the student. This is to ensure that the student gets the most beneficial tutoring experience possible.

I've worked with students between the ages of 3-16, though I'm happy to extend the age rage.

There are many different styles of teaching, make sure to find a tutor that teaches the best way for you, even if that means testing a few different ones! Your learning is the priority, not your tutor's feelings.

Details

My standard rate is $35 per hour one-on-one and $25 per hour per student for groups. These rates may be negotiable when merited by the circumstance.
