About Dustin

Proven track record of helping students achieve their goal grades in all relevant courses. Being a part of students' learning journey is something we take very seriously and work to provide a high-level of support to help students conquer coursework and achieve their goal grades. We are passionate about science and the hard skills science requires that carryover into other areas of study and life. Critical thinking and complex problem solving are skills that we actively work on in every session to help the student understand the material, and digest new material more easily going forward.

I began tutoring during college, and continued after graduating leading into me obtaining a teacher certification to enhance my offerings to students and be a better teacher/tutor.

3 years experience as a tutor. B.S. in Biology. Certified 7-12 Science Teacher.

About the lesson

When working with new students, I find it very beneficial to spend some time reviewing their previous work, and getting a solid idea of where they are at in their understanding of the course to that point.

I have worked with students of greatly varying backgrounds and levels. I have worked with students from 9th grade all the way through college seniors. I have worked with students that have learning disabilities and have no problem making accommodations to help them achieve.

Ensure that any teacher you hire, emphasizes the importance of crtical thinking and complex problem solving. These are the skills that will enable you to be successful in almost any endeavor going forward.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my main trouble areas with the coursework? What are the things I have the best understanding of? What has helped me the most in my learning? What has not been very helpful in my learning? What do I want to gain from this/these course/s? How will I measure success?
