About Annalisa

Hello! I have a bachelor's degree in biology for which I studied many related sciences, including chemistry, environmental science, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology. All along my science journey I have tutored everything from high school biology to college level physiology to prep for nursing programs.

What makes my methods special is my experience with different learning styles and challenges. I am a kinesthetic, visual, and musical learner myself, which does not naturally translate into science, but I've used my learning styles to harness science regardless. I don't believe in learning "disabilities", I just think that everyone has a certain way that they take in information and I will adapt my methods to your learning style, translating it from the logical/methodical way that science (and other topics) are usually taught into simpler words, drawings or videos, analogies, movements, and rhymes. I will help you understand what the teacher wants and what the test will entail, but most of all I will actually help you LEARN.

If you need this kind of translation help with another field besides science, please don't hesitate to ask! Even if it's not a subject I've taken myself, I can help by learning it along with you.

About the lesson

First, we identify your goals and challenges together and create a plan for how to design each tutoring session. We try to stick to the plan as much as possible, but of course this is open to modification if anything isn't working.
