About Taylor

I'm currently a K-8 education major at my local CC and plan to graduate with my bachelors not long after! I'm very laid back and have some great tips and tricks to help with memorization! I've been tutoring for about 4 years now and helped out at my high school, junior and senior year, as well as tutored a 4th grader and 8th grader for 2 years as well.

I love helping others achieve their goals, especially when it comes to school. Watching people succceed and find a passion in what they do really makes my day.

I'm currently getting ready to finish my 2nd year of college and have been working with students for quite a few years. I've tutored total for about 4 years

About the lesson

When it comes to working with a new student, I like to get to know the student a bit and then move onto the process of asking them a series of questions on what they are needing help with and where it is they get stuck. I then have them do one of their given problems and have them ask when they get stuck or go over their completed work and give some tips about where their mistake was made.

I've worked with all types of students, from ELL students, to some that just don't want to put in the effort because they think it is pointless.

I would definitely incourage the student to look at the teachers profile, but also ask them some questions to see if it is someone you can work with. Sometimes finding a compatible teacher works out better than one who drills material into a student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions they should think through are: Am I not understanding a small section or the entire thing?, Could I possibly be rushing, and not paying attention to what I'm being asked on the problem?
